« Changing Criteria.. :: Smiling is a Choice... »The 2010/2011 school year is just moments away, and yes friends, "It's time" Each year headed into August, we began gearing up for the school year by taking the last month and a half to prepare for the up and coming school year. As parents and educators, it is time to perform assessments and to sharpen the skills our students have to relieve the stress and pressure of the start of the school year.
Follow up:
While some of our students are looking forward to meeting friends and acquaintances, there are other students who are dreading the first stroke on the chalk board. To them, the first day will not be warm and fuzzy, but confusion and the feeling of inadequacy. Though we can not accompany our students to class to encourage and comfort them, we can change the first week of class by altering their level of preparation and confidence by giving them a head start on the school year with summer tutorial support.
For many, knowing the first assignment that is written on the chalk board will determine whether we have a student that is excited about learning, or one that we have to drag out of bed each morning. Their thoughts on how the school year will progress, will be solidified on the first days of activity, and will determine the typo of academic performance we see this school year.
Let’s make sure our students are prepared for the school year. Just like we purchase materials and clothes, we must make sure that their confidence is not just in the clothing or social position, but in their knowledge that their academic performance will be to their liking. We want to insure that our students start and remain confidence this year, as opposed to struggling and having to revive them 12 weeks into the school year.
Let us acknowledge that it is time. The time is now to prepare for a successful school campaign.
