The cost is $3.00 and participants must be 15 years old or above to attend. We have a great time. Kelly reported that the session went well. She felt like she grasped some of the concepts after they were explained to her.
Kelly liked the tutor you sent and they seemed to get along quite well. I think the session was a big help to Kelly (if only for clarification purposes and for explanations of formulas, etc). Having someone weekly for awhile will help tremendously.
We would definitely like to add Chemistry tutoring on a weekly basis.
Let me know if that can happen and what day works best.
Thank you, Janice
Three nights ago, I was doing the 3 am feeding for my beautiful new baby girl, and I learned a valuable lesson. One that I want to pass on to the readers of this blog. After feeding her, I rocked her for a bit, and then laid her down to check my emails and facebook (yes, at 3 in the morning), and she woke the moment her back touched the bassinet. I thought, hmm, she’s dry and full, what more could she need at 3 a.m. in the morning? She looked at me with those beautiful eyes and spoke a word without moving her lips or making a sound. The message, “I need you to do more than feed me!”
This past week, I was blessed with another great moment was achieved in my life. The birth of my fourth daughter, yes, I said fourth daughter. She is a beauty, and has already brought great joy and peace with her birth.
Yes, I know!!! Didn't you pray for twin boys? Yes I did. I prayed specifically for a fourth, and yes, I received a fourth; daughter that is.
I want to thank all of you for your prayers. Please continue to pray for us.

Johnny,
Thank you for the summary, it is helpful. Bill liked both Suzan and Lisa yet said "Lisa was a beast (really good) and excellent in breaking it down to him".
It would be more beneficial to do two days of back to back tutoring and two days of tests and quizzes (Thursday & Friday). This will provide him with 4 days of developing his learning skills and performance. I would like Suzan to help him in his heavy reading and memorization courses, like History, Eng and how to memorize bio stuff.
Thank you for your help!
William
Readers, I am interested in your thoughts. Some schools did not show President Obama's speech to students this week. Should they have shown the speech? What are your thoughts?
I just met with the physics teacher and he is amazing.
Thanks for all the trouble
Alice

This summer, I had a photo book made of my story about How the Green Frog Got His Golden Heart so that I could read it to the Navajo children. While I'm glad that I did, what I learned from this is that I really need to redo my artwork before I invest in mass producing this book. My resolution needs to be higher. I talked to a Christian self-publisher who can promote the book who also told me the artwork needed to be redone. They have artists but I'm not impressed because their artwork is so ordinary. I want something bright and bold.
We're working on getting the story as a drama into Houston schools which would be an outlet for the book. This story is basically the Good Samaritan with frogs and toads. I'd like to mass produce this book with a gospel presentation at the end to be a blessing for children. This is what I need to be working on now as my trip to India has been postponed until January.
My son who worked for EA video games as a computer engineer insists that I get a Mac and Photoshop if I want to do this artwork and future artwork for the Granny Vee website. Since he's the pro, I tend to agree but I know the Macs are price-y. Anyone have any ideas or know how to get one at a discounted price? Or any other ideas?
Anyone know any foundations that might be interested in this project?
Blessings!

1. Schedule regular daily reading time.
Reading out loud regularly to children will produce significant gains in reading. By daily reading your child will build up their comprehension, vocabulary, and word decoding. If the child is a preschooler or preteen, reading regularly will increase their interest in independently reading and will build their skill, speed and knowledge base.
Follow up:
2. Create an environment where children have plentiful reading material at hand.
Kids that have plentiful reading materials score higher on standardized test. Surround your child's environment with magazines, interesting and appealing books. Keep materials in the cars, bedrooms, TV Room, bathrooms. When your child is waiting for an appointment have their favorite reading material at hand to read during wasted waiting time.
3. Set up family reading time.
A family should read together for 15 to 30 minute every day. Silently reading together. Your child will see you read and this will inspire your children to read too. Daily practice is sufficient to increase reading fluency.
Casey has started her second year at ASU. She is really blossoming there. The school is a good fit for her. She went on a mission trip last spring break. She really enjoys serving. God is truly amazing!! Hope your business is off to a good start this year. You and your wife have a fantastic business. We couldn't have made it through without your help! May God bless you. Have a wonderful year.

Johnny,
Since November of 2006 I have been providing you with a heads up on stories relating to special education by KRIV Fox 26 in Houston, Texas.
On the 9 p.m. news Thursday September 3rd , 2009 KRIV’s investigative reporter Randy Wallace will do a follow up story on a bullying case that Marty Cirkiel and I have been involved with that was recently filed in Federal District Court. It is our hope that this filing could have a dramatic impact in how school systems deal with bullying. It is our belief that this is a story that is not unique to Texas.
If you cannot watch the story on KRIV, it will be streamed live on stations web site at http://myfoxhouston.com. If you miss the story, it will be available on the web site at the same address. I will send the direct link after it is posted on the web site after it airs.
The Houston Fox affiliate should be lauded for continuing their stories on special needs kids. As I mentioned previously it has now been 34 months since the first story aired on their station. After viewing the story please contact the station and the reporter to show our appreciation.
