Creative Tutors of Cypress-Fairbanks
Today I want to address a group of students who often go unnoticed. These students enter an ever changing school environment, maintain and relate with peers that are difficult to interact with, are pressed on every side by peer pressure and constant scrutiny from their teachers. These students have deadlines to meet, and have survived many storms, all while maintaining their home responsibilities.
These students are forced to adjust to new standards and teaching methods and are infiltrated with new technology; all while forced to master the district benchmarks. While others have faltered, these students have excelled while others were in the principles office and or in danger of failing the grade. The student I want to address today is YOU!!!
Just wanted to let you know that Shawn passed the TAKS Test. We would like to “Thank You” for your preparing him for the test as well as class math. Shawn really enjoys the way you teach.
This weekend, we are in Galveston for the HAAEYC conference where my wife is a presenter at the HAAEYC Spring Retreat and Conference.
Last night, we took our girls to see the Hanna Montana Movie and boy did I faced one of the most embarrassing moments ever. Since it was raining, my wife and the girls went in ahead of me, and I had to purchase my own ticket.
Picture this, a 35 year old man, standing in line with a bunch of pre-teens and a couple of married couple, buying a ticket from a male teenager in a ticket booth. Picture that grown man saying, "One ticket for Hanna Montana."
Moms; I want to share with you an excerpt from a new book by Katy Ireland called "Real Solutions for Busy Moms."
"When you and the rest of your family are happy, your day goes more smoothly, your problems are resolved more quickly, and your life flows like a fresh and beautiful spring. As world champion boxer and entrepreneur George Foreman has said, "You just can't beat ol' happy." Happiness is something we all desperately want and need."
A beautiful thing takes place when we open our eyes. We can behold something so beautiful, that it can cause us to conquer feats once considered a victory well out of reach. When we open our eyes, we breathe in illustrations so powerful that it can give us the strength to press through circumstances that are highly unfavorable. That my friend is: inspiration. Inspiration is the oxygen to our exhaled disposition.
