It's Time......

Dec 29 | It's Time......

What a great time of year this is. All the love expressed towards our family and fellow man is such a joy to behold. Experiencing the blessing of giving and receiving gifts has allowed us to escape our present reality which is currently being masked in the gravy of cheer and gift that have flowed ever so freely.

Follow up:

While it is nice that we have these 15 minute, 30 minute and 60 minute breaks built into our lives, we must remember that we have to return to work and finish the later part of our shift just as strong as we finished the shift prior to the break. A break is a time to refresh and recover, to refocus and to replenish. The danger of the break is that it can: 1. Cause one to look forward to another break and 2. Cause one to start dreaming and planning for the end of the shift.

Both of these things are dangerous because they cause one to be lackadaisical in their work, missing important details, produce a lack excellence, a drop in production and performance. We must fight against “holiday break lag!” We must begin to recharge and stoke the fire and passion that we have towards learning and educating our students. We as parents, educators and students have some unfinished business to attend to (Which for many will be the focus of our New Years Resolutions).

Having said all of that I conclude this blog by saying "It's Time!" It's time for us to exercise (I should say, "It's time for us to Exercise our Minds"). If you are anything like me, this holiday I took time to become a Mental Couch Potato, and now I have a Mental Gut that needs to be worked off!!!!

It's time once again to punch the clock. It's time to stretch. It's time to warm up. It's time to prepare our bodies and minds for the stretch ahead. It's time to do some Educational Sit Ups, Crunches, and Lunges. Let’s take these last couple of days to begin warming up our minds. Do a crossword puzzle. Do some leisure reading. Watch reruns of Jeopardy! Make sure that you are a warm machine on the first day, and not a cramp waiting to happen. After the break, the end of the shift always seems like it is far away, but we can get there through hard work, focus and most of all, having faith that we can complete the educational fitness workout plan prescribed to us, and being administered to others.

It's Time!!!
