« Amazing Houston in-home tutoring results! :: Excellent Service Provider »Ok. Yesterday was really special. My middle child on Monday (celebrating her birthday early because of family travel plans) prayed that it would snow for the holidays, and I, minister/parent thought, "It's Houston!!!"
Follow up:
So yesterday, I was broken and almost overcome seeing snow in Houston (a nice flurry too), and it really caused me to look at the situations we face everyday. Many of us face frustrations on our jobs, and I can't tell you how many, Elementary, Middle School, Junior High and High School students and parents that I have talked to who find them selves feeling just like I did in regards to the prayer for it to snow in Houston saying, "It's Me!!!!" “I have always struggled in this class.” “I failed the last two six weeks.” “I am lost and not capable of keeping up.” “I don’t know if there is any hope for my child.” “I was bad in math, and my child is just like me.”
I listen to parent after parent crying out for help and in the same breath doubting that things will change. Well yesterday proved something. When we ask, trust, and believe; things can and will happen. Most of what we miss out on is because we doubt and assume that things will never change. Things can change! It doesn't take long. All we have to do is to believe.
It is my hope and prayer, that we will take 2009 by storm. Even though our student are currently struggling, I believe that with a little help they can pass the TAKS tests, maintain their AP and K level Status, continue to excel in the Gifted and Talented programs, master the Horizons program, graduate in the top 10% of their class, obtain SAT and ACT scores high enough to get scholarships and entrance into the school of our choice, and be the most polished Home School Student to enter into college.
With one week left in the year, we must approach 2009 not focused on the past or carrying last years doubts, but determined to work hard, with the right attitude, knowing that all things are possible, to him that believe.
Let's keep working hard!!! It can and will happen!
