Mar 16 | Are You College Bound?

College Bound?

Are you going off to college next year? Are you a Junior in high school this year with your eye on that "special" college? Time is of the essence when preparing to apply to schools across the country. Here are some important things to consider. For more helpful information visit CollegeBoard.com.

Summer Before Senior Year

  • Visit colleges that interest you.
  • Call ahead for the campus tour schedule.
  • Schedule an on-campus interview with an admissions representative.
  • Finalize your list of colleges.
  • Be sure your list "safety" schools, as well as good "match" and "reach" schools. 
  • Request college applications and informational packets.
  • Organize materials into separate files by college.
  • Keep a college calendar of all admissions deadlines.
  • If you plan on competing in Division I or Division II college sports and want to be eligible to be recruited by colleges, you must register with the NCAA Initial Eligibility Clearinghouse.
  • If you took AP® Exams in May, you will receive your AP score reports in July.
  • Register early for fall SAT® tests.

Kellye Ambler

Meet Kellye Ambler | Owner

Kellye Ambler graduated from Texas A & M University with a degree in Journalism and Marketing. She has been in the education field since 2001; teaching Pre-Kindergarten and as an Assistant Director at an NAEYC accredited private preschool. For the past three years she has been a substitute teacher in her local school district, teaching mainly at the elementary level in the Special Education department. Kellye and her husband, Jim, keep busy with their two boys, ages 12 and 2.
