« Back to School for Kids with Special Needs :: Socratic Seminars »I wanted to share this video because I thought it was very cute. In this, an 11 year old elementary school student interviews the President about topics such as school lunches, sports, and bullying. You can tell what is important to a young boy!
Follow up:
President Obama responds that while he may not be able to make school lunches "better" (this is what the young man desired!), he and his administration are trying to make school lunches healthier. The young man responded that he likes mangos...maybe not exactly where President Obama was going but yes, better than tator tots! The President also informed the young man he can no longer dunk the basketball, that he deals with bullying by just trying to keep doing the best job he can, and that he plans to address all of America's youth about the importance of education on September 8. While not all American youth will have the opportunity to meet and talk with the President as this young man did, I hope that they will get the message about the importance of staying in school.
