As parents and educators we have a very important role in helping a child develop a great self-esteem. When just a baby... the people in their lives give them lots of praise and encouragement when learning to feed them self, crawl, walk and talk.
As the child becomes more self sufficient they also must become more self reliant on building their own self-esteem. As kids grow older their achievements play a big role in helping them develop their self-esteem. Making the team, being a good friend, a wonderful sense of humor, thoughtful citizenship are just a few examples when older children can find opportunity to build their self-esteem.
Family and other people that are part of the child's life also help them to build up their self-esteem. Friends, coaches, neighbors all have a responsibility to help the children around them hear encouragement and praise. It is alright if a child needs encouragement when lacking initial success in a new activity. Helping the child reach success and encouraging them along the way helps to build a positive self image.
The entire tutoring team helps to impact the confidence level of their students. Through solid instruction and tutoring encouragement we find students respond quickly and become successful in all aspect of their lives with mentors that purposefully teach to the individual child and their unique educational need. As our students achieve success and learn…. Something remarkable begins to happen…. their self-esteem grows and builds a foundation for future successful learning opportunities opening a well that will never dry up.
