« President Obama Signs American Recovery and Reinvestment Act :: Key Policy Letters Signed by the Education Secretary or Deputy Secretary »As stated in the Washington Post...Sending nude photos via cellphone now has a name. It's called "sexting" and it's the latest talking point for parents of teens.
It is hard for me to find the words to explain my sadness for the children that had such little respect for themselves and their bodies to allow themselves to engage in sending nude photos of themselves to their so called "friends" at school and such.
Follow up:
It is imperative that children learn to respect themselves and feel valued.
Additionally, parents need to keep up to speed with technology and stay mindful of educating their children about how to use the internet and how to keep the child safe on line.
Once the photos or information is placed on the web it should be considered permanent and out of their control. The child needs to learn this early and constant vigilance in respect to this issue should be a part of the parenting skills of all parents.
If you are a parent you should consider purchasing your child's name on .net/.org./.com and protect their name. This simple action could save your child's profile!

Important to note that teenagers who need help (as all of them probably do)navigating issues of intimacy and setting appropriate boundaries out of respect for their bodies do not need to be lumped in with criminals and true child (pornographers).
