Arkansas Alumni Association Scholarship—applicant must be an incoming admitted freshman (degree-seeking) student to the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. Minimum 3.6 GPA, ACT composite of 24/SAT 1090. Applicants do not need to be related to a UA graduate to apply. Application available at www.arkansasalumni.org/scholarships</a>. Priority Deadline is December 1, 2011. Final deadline is February 1, 2012.
Baylor University, Carr P. Collins Scholars Program, $4,600/year, renewable up to three years. Applicants must: meet all university requirements for unconditional admission; have a minimum combined Critical Reading & Math score of 1250 on the SAT or a minimum 28 on the ACT; have completed a balanced college prep program including history, science and a foreign language; be in the top quarter of the graduating class; and be a resident of the state of Texas for at least one year. FIRE (Foundation for Individual Rights in Education) “Freedom in Academia” Student Essay Contest, $5,000—open to college-bound high school seniors. Applicant must view two short FIRE documentaries and write an essay of 800-1,000 words. Videos and complete details are available at www.thefire.org/contests</a>. The final day to submit an entry is November 5, 2011.
Haz La U Educational Grant Program—Hispanic Heritage Foundation partnering with Colgate-Palmolive “to encourage young Hispanics to “Haz La U” (Make the U) and get on the path to higher education”. One Grand Prize of a $15,000 Educational Grant, 10 second prizes of $2,500 each. Applicant must be of Hispanic American heritage and have plans to enroll in a two or four year accredited U.S. institution for the 2012-2013 school year. Requires an application and 3 short essays of 500 words or less on a selection of topics. Submit entries on-line at www.colgate.com/hazlau</a>. Deadline is December 31, 2011.
Kansas, University of, Self Engineering Leadership Fellows Program for engineering and computer science students at KU—a program looking for leaders, not test scores—$24,000, 4-year financial package. Applicant need not be in the top in their class but must have an aptitude for math and science, a vision for success and leadership skills. Missouri, University of, Columbia—Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business—The following are the two largest scholarships offered by the College of Business:
· Ponder Scholarship—minority majoring in Accountancy, Economics, Finance, International Business, Management, or Marketing. scholarships that are awarded students The primary qualifications are being a minority, academic achievement, and financial need. Renewable.
· Sam M. Walton Scholarships in Business are awarded to students majoring in Economics, Finance, International Business, Management, or Marketing.
Trulaske College of Business general scholarships are also available.

Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, North Dallas Chapter (Alpha Iota Iota Chapter)—open to seniors (male and female). Applicants will be judged on academics, extracurricular activities, community involvement and financial need.
Prudential Spirit of Community Awards—$1,000 and a trip to Washington, DC—recognizes students in the middle and high school grades who have demonstrated exemplary community service over the past year. Texas Student Housing—Scholarship is open to students accepted to colleges in Austin, College Station or Denton Texas who have not signed off-campus housing leases. David Pulsipher graduated from California State University Northridge with a BA in mathematics with an emphasis in secondary education. Following his dream inspired by a high school coach, he began his career in California teaching math and coaching basketball. After migrating to Texas, David began at Creative Tutors as a tutor and now is area manager of McKinney. He loves seeing the successes achieved by the students with their hard work and determination to succeed. He is a proud father of five children who keep him very busy. In his spare time he enjoys playing basketball and cheering for his favorite teams.
