If you're like me...you understand the importance of protecting your child from the harmful effects of the sun and you have absolutely no idea how to choose a sunscreen that is right for your child. One severe sunburn early in life can double your child's chances of developing melanoma as an adult. Since you're likely overwhelmed by the plethora of choice available... I thought the decision might be a little easier if you had the facts.
We all have heard of tragedies involving children drowning...even when they were under supervision. It's a horrific event that all too often destroys families as well...when they need each other the most. Did you know that:
The good news is that with some common sense and practice of basic safety rules, drowning doesn't need to happen.
There are many reasons to goof around with our children. Perhaps the best is that they can help us to live longer. Children don't take life...or themselves...too seriously. They laugh. They play. They enjoy each day. They are quick to smile and they can be our best teachers in remembering how to laugh. And laughing, it seems, is a very good thing!
There are many old sayings about laughter; you've heard them. "A laugh is a smile that bursts." "He who laughs, lasts." "Laughter is the best medicine." "You don't stop laughing because you grow old. You grow old because you stop." Now medical research is proving that there is more than a grain of truth in these words.
